With an eye to increasing appointment schedules ahead of Labor Day Weekend, ImpactLife has increased and extended the value of donor promotions offered for donors who give blood and platelets at ImpactLife Donor Center locations through September 8. The need for blood donations becomes increasingly critical in the weeks of late summer and back-to-school season. ImpactLife is urging individuals to roll up their sleeves and help increase the blood supply before the upcoming Labor Day Weekend.

During the final weeks of summer, blood donations tend to decline due to factors including travel, vacations, and shifting priorities of back-to-school season. However, the demand for blood remains constant, as cancer treatment, surgeries, trauma, and other medical emergencies can happen at any time. While donations from all blood types are needed, ImpactLife is especially focused on the O-negative and O-positive blood types, as well as platelet donations from all blood types.

Aug. 20, 2024: Type O red blood cells, which can be transfused to all other blood groups, are at less than a 3-day inventory.
ImpactLife Donor Promotions (through September 8)
To thank donors who give blood during this critical time of year, ImpactLife will provide all presenting donors with a voucher to redeem for their choice of an electronic gift card, bonus points to use in the Donor Rewards Store, or an equivalent donation to Make-a-Wish Illinois, Make-a-Wish Iowa, Make-a-Wish Missouri, or Make-a-Wish Wisconsin via the blood center’s “Good Giving” program.
The value of the electronic gift card, Donor Rewards points, or donation depends on the donation type and location. Limited time Labor Day bonus values through September 8:

- WHOLE BLOOD - $40 gift card or $40 donation or 2,000 points
- DOUBLE RED - $45 gift card or $45 donation or 2,500 points
- PLATELET (and donor has previously given platelets 2 or more times with ImpactLife) - $45 gift card or $45 donation or 2,500 points
- PLATELET (and it's the donor's 1st or 2nd attempt to give platelets with ImpactLife) - $70 gift card or $70 donation or 4,000 points
Register to give at a MOBILE BLOOD DRIVE
- WHOLE BLOOD - $20 gift card or $20 donation or 1,000 points
- DOUBLE RED - $25 gift card or $25 donation or 1,500 points
- PLATELET (and donor has previously given platelets 2 or more times with ImpactLife) - $45 gift card or $45 donation or 2,500 points
