On Giving Tuesday, ImpactLife looks to increase appointment schedules and meet collection goals for our region’s blood supply. The nonprofit blood provider has a number of special programs underway to thank donors for taking time to give blood during the busy holiday season. See below for details on:
- Good Giving: donate funds to local food banks while supporting our region's blood supply
- Big Ten We Give Blood Drive: last week to support your favorite B1G university!
- #givetolive: a social media campaign to highlight blood donors through Dec. 8

Good Giving: opportunity for blood donors to "pay it forward" with donation to local food banks
Under the Good Giving program, blood donors receive a voucher to redeem for an e-gift card, bonus points for ImpactLife Donor Rewards Store, or an equivalent value donation to support food banks in our region.
In 2024, volunteer blood donors have provided more than $60,000 in funds for Good Giving initiatives, including reforestation, animal welfare, Make-A-Wish, and food needs.

Last Call! Big Ten We Give Blood Drive wraps up Dec. 6
ImpactLife is part of an effort by the Big Ten conference and Abbott to increase blood donation by students, alumni, and fans of Big Ten schools. Less than a week remains in the Big Ten's “We Give Blood Drive” that has schools vying for a $1 million grant to advance student or community health by recruiting the greatest number of donors by this weekend's Big Ten Football Championship.
- Every donation scores one point for the Big Ten school designated by the donor on the leaderboard.
- The winning school will receive $1 million to advance student or community health.
- Individual donors will be offered a free one month subscription to B1G+ and will be entered to win a trip to the 2024 Discover® Big Ten Football Championship Game on December 7, 2024.
