June 14 is World Blood Donor Day

ImpactLife joins blood providers worldwide in celebrating June 14 as World Blood Donor Day. With just a 2-day supply of type O-negative and O-positive red blood cells, the blood center is asking all eligible donors to schedule an appointment for blood donation to help improve our region's blood supply in the early weeks of summer.

About World Blood Donor Day
Observed annually on June 14, World Blood Donor Day commemorates the birth of Dr. Karl Landsteiner, whose research identified the main blood groups: type A, type B, type AB and type O, as well as the Rh-factor in blood. Blood providers worldwide mark World Blood Donor Day by raising awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and by thanking volunteer donors for providing a lifesaving resource in their communities.

To thank donors who give blood during this critical time of year, ImpactLife will provide all presenting donors with a voucher to redeem for their choice of an electronic gift card, bonus points to use in the Donor Rewards Store, or an equivalent donation to Best Friends Animal Society via the blood center’s “Good Giving” program.

The Popcorn Shoppe helps celebrate ImpactLife’s 50th Anniversary
Established in 1974, ImpactLife is now celebrating its 50th Anniversary. We've partnered with The Popcorn Shoppe in Peoria, Illinois, to create 50th Birthday Blend, a delicious combination of flavors inspired by the blood center’s brand colors: red (cherry), blue (red raspberry) and yellow (lemon).
